Have you ever needed a good reason to justify booking an adventure you've been dreaming of for a long time? I certainly have, but usually it doesn't take too much convincing since traveling is my passion and I can usually find good enough reasons to justify my travel plans.
Below we'll give you 10 fantastic reasons on why you should join our most popular trip 'Hiking off the Beaten Path':
#1. You love hiking

If you're a hiker, then this trip is made for you! We spend 8 days traveling through the southern part of Iceland and we hike in some of the best hiking areas Iceland has to offer, from Þórsmörk to the Highlands and the Westman islands, you'll encounter amazing variety of hiking and no day will be the same. At the end of each day, you'll spend the night at one of our partner hotels where you can have a great meal and sleep like an angel to recover for next day's adventure!
#2. You don't like crowds

We have designed this trip to stay mostly away from all the big crowds found in southern Iceland. We visit lesser traveled areas (who are way more stunning than the most famous ones) so we can enjoy Icelandic nature to its fullest. In my opinion, the best way to see Iceland is on foot. By doing so you can really get in touch with the wild Icelandic nature and experience the peacefulness of being completely alone in nature.
#3. You want to see puffins

Who doesn't like puffins? On one of our big hikes, we hike through the largest puffin colony in the world. We will be seeing thousands of puffins and get to enjoy marveling at those beautiful birds which are so iconic. It will be difficult to keep on with the hike, because you can just sit down and watch these little ones for hours. No visit to Iceland in the summer time is complete without seeing the puffins!
#4. Amazing landscapes

The landscape in Iceland often feels like a different planet and is so diverse. From volcanos and hot springs to glaciers and colorful mountains, Iceland feels like someone decided to put all the most beautiful landscapes together onto a small island and succeeded brilliantly! It's almost impossible to take a bad picture in this country.
#5. You like a good challenge

There are some challenging hikes on this trip and require participants to be in good physical shape and be ready to tackle 10+ miles of hiking in one day, including plenty of elevation gain. But with these challenges comes an amazing reward which can't be beat when you reach the top of a mountain or finish a full day of hiking and get the satisfaction of having completed something fantastic. And let's not forget the views, the views are always to die for!
#6. You appreciate a good thrill

On one of our days, we will go on a spectacular 2 hour RIB-speedboat tour around cluster of islands called Vestmannaeyjar. This archipelago boasts some stunning sea-cliffs, caves, a huge amount of birdlife and if we're lucky, then we might spot some whales. This is a fantastic opportunity to experience the Icelandic landscape from sea.
#7. You want to chase waterfalls

We will be exploring some of Iceland's most impressive waterfalls. One of the pillars in Icelandic landscape are our waterfalls. We have thousands of them spread around the country and they are all different from one another. We will see some of the best waterfalls the country has to offer and experience the power and the magnitude of some of these falls.
#8. You like good company

The only thing that's better than hiking in amazing places, is doing so with somebody to share the experience with. On this adventure, you'll be traveling with like minded people (always small groups) who share the same passion for the outdoors and nature like you. After a trip like this, you will have made new friends for life and you'll always share this special bond of having embraced the Icelandic wild together.
#9. A local, English speaking guide

In our opinion, the guide is one of the most valuable aspects to a trip like this. It is absolutely priceless to have a professional, local guide with you, who will be able to teach you all about the way of life in Iceland and its culture, tell you great stories about trolls, elves and other Icelandic folklore and lead you safely through Iceland's wilderness. The guide is what can make or break trips like these, and we absolutely love to share our passion for Iceland and the nature with our travelers. One of our highest priorities is that people will leave the country feeling that they've made a new, good friend in Iceland.
#10. Memories that will last a lifetime

As the plane takes off, you gaze out the window one last time, watching Iceland’s rugged landscapes fade into the distance. Your mind replays the moments - the crunch of boots on volcanic trails, the mist of towering waterfalls, the calmness and serenity of being alone in nature and nothing else matters. You remember the laughter shared over warm meals, the thrill of crossing icy rivers, and the awe of standing atop windswept peaks with newfound friends. Though the adventure has ended, the memories remain—etched into your heart, waiting to be relived with every story you tell.
....And many, many more reasons

I could keep going forever, telling you about all the great reasons why it's a fantastic idea to come over to Iceland, but I think it's just so much better to experience it all first hand. So if you've made it this far, I've definitely caught your attention and I truly hope to see you on one of our adventures soon!
